Vintage Madame Alexander Mary McKee (#1425) 13"-1st Ladies Series IV NRFB with original box. Never Displayed, Never Played with. Kept in Original Blue box since 1984. Original owner. Original Blue Box and pink tissue paper included in sale. Although listed as used, this doll is in pristine condition.
Mary McKee was the daughter of 23rd US President Benjamin Harrison (1889-1893). She served as First Lady after the death of her mother, Harrison's wife. She fulfilled the hosting duties that were required of her mother.
Mary Mckee has beautiful bright blonde hair styled with a center part with large banana curls around the back of her head with braids. There is a net covering her hair. She wears a beautiful golden brocade gown with lace and golden satin trim with large center skirt pleat. Her sleeves have pearl trim at the edge and she wears a pearl necklace. Her v-neck includes silver lace trim.
Under her dress is a lace and tafetta crinolin, nylons and gold satin slip on shoes.
Mckee's eyes open and close when moved from horizontal to vertical and vice versa.
There is a ribbon tag and paper tag showing Madame Alexander authenticity.
Doll purchased from Lord & Taylor in 1984.
