This is a Hummel #701 "1979 Farewell" hand bell. It stands about 6" high to the top of the handle. It denotes a sitting little girl waving a red handkerchief on one side of the bell and "1979" is painted in red on the other. The colors are brilliant. The bell rings when shaken.  The inside of the bell is stamped by Goebel of W Germany.
