Dealing with a paypal chargeback

Hello, new to Bonanza. We sold a Nintendo Switch on this platform & the day it’s out for delivery (today) we received a chargeback claim. We added signature on delivery to the item, since it was over $200. We submitted all our evidence to the PayPal claim, tracking details, pictures of the item, pictures of the USPS receipt, our transaction detail page from Bonanza, etc. That said, really no idea how to navigate this issue. Seems like there should be way more protection from Bonanza for sellers, if it’s this easy to file a false claim. From others experience, what is the normal outcome for a situation like this? What are the chances we get the item back / receive a positive outcome? Any other ideas? Thanks for any input.

I had a buyer file a chargeback claiming they didn’t buy the item. It was $500.00. I had sent it with adult signature required. I sent paypal all the tracking information and a copy of the signature card. Signature on the card was the name of the person that filed the chargeback. Paypal found in my favor as I had the signature card.

if they claim they didnt get it no matter how much proof you give paypal chances are they’ll get their money back.Because even though you have all the proof you sent it there is no way to prove they actually received it. I had a package once that had tracking that said it was delivered and i didnt get it on the day it said it was delivered. Somehow It showed up a week later because the post office made a mistake and lost it and said it was already delivered when it wasn’t. This is why myself as a seller I dont sell expensive items online due to post office losing them or people making false claims of not getting them. Hope they find in your favor you just have to wait and see what their final decision is unfortunately thats all you can do.

Actually, if you have tracking that shows item was delivered to the Paypal address the customer has on the account they paid thru they are likely to go in your favor. Had this happen one time with a higher dollar item and Paypal was on my side. Also, if you have paid for signature service check to see who signed for it, use all of this to your advantage. It does take a week or 2 depending on how fast they work on it so give it a little time. Also, do a detailed check on tracking to see each location the package travelled to, sucks that there are lowlifes out there who do this to sellers, but, it is the way of the world, everyone wants something for nothing. Good luck!

I had something that I purchased and tracking showed it was delivered to me but I never got it. So the buyer may very well be telling the truth. It’s hard to say…..but Paypal will more than likely side with the buyer.

It’s not Bonanza….it is easy to file a claim on all the sites. It’s the payment processor, which is Paypal. The money went through them to you and so the buyer goes through Paypal to try and get their money back.

Best of luck to you.
